The Mug Press is quick to set up and you can literally be making stunning, unique mugs in no time. It is this simple…design, cut, press! Cricut also has lots of mug design templates in Design Space available specifically for the mug press.

The mug press designs are permanent and are also dishwasher and microwave safe. No more peeling vinyl off mugs after opening the dishwasher! Plus, the colors achieved are bright, vibrant and eye catching.

Please note: You will need to activate the machine before you start and you will need to do this with your computer and not with your mobile phone.

Also make sure the mug press sits on a heat resistant surface in a well ventilated area, because heat presses get hot!

Here is a short video from Cricut on setting up your new Mug Press…

How Does The Mug Press Work?

Cricut are masters of beautiful, functional, minimalist design and this certainly shows through in the mug press.

The Mug Press uses Zone heating, a combo of high heat and pressure, which ensures excellent results with Infusible Ink, making your awesome mug creations last indefinitely.

There is an easy to navigate, one touch button system which starts the transfer and beeps to let you know when your mug is done. There are also LED lights showing the progress of the transfer from start to finish.

So, once you have your Infusible Ink transfer cut, you simply wrap it around the mug, insert the mug into the press, push the lever down and wiat for the beep! Voila!

What Materials Can I Use For Transfers?

The press is specifially designed to use Infusible Ink sheets, pens or Infusible Ink markers for the transfers. These should be used on specially designed Cricut mug blanks that work with Infusible Ink, just like the other blanks (coasters etc) Cricut has designed for use with Infusible Ink.

Cricut has even launched a range of Infusible Ink sheets that are sized specifically for the mug press, just look for the little blue mug press symbol on the box.

Please note: You cannot use self adhesive vinyl in the mug press, it will melt due to the high temperature and may potentially damage your lovely new machine!

What Mug Blanks Can I Use?

It’s important to note here that you should ideally only use Cricut mug blanks that are Infusible Ink compatible. The mug press can accommodate two mug sizes (12 and 15oz) and they must be straight walled.

Cricut does clearly state that they cannot gaurantee results if you use non compatible, generic blanks.
